Hey, who’s the new guy in the MyRacePass PitPass newsletter?

Lincoln, NE (October 30, 2024)- MyRacePass is excited to announce the addition of a brand-new, exclusive column to our biweekly newsletter, The Pit Pass. Beginning with our November 2, 2024 edition, motorsports media legend and National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Dave Argabright will be providing his unique, influential voice to The Pit Pass.

While we could go on for days about how wonderful this is, anything we say will pale in comparison to words from the man himself so we're going to just let Dave do what Dave does best; tell The Story.

Hey, who’s the new guy in the MyRacePass Pit Pass newsletter?

It’s been a long while since I’ve been “the new guy.” My background in motorsports media dates back many years covering a wide variety of racing via print and broadcast media. I’ve also authored 19 motorsports-related books. Maybe you’ve read some of my work, or maybe you’ve seen me on television. Then again, maybe not!

Joining the MyRacePass media effort is the most exciting development for me in many years. It’s an opportunity to connect with a wide, multi-generational audience that includes many new faces, as well as lots of longtime readers and viewers who are familiar with our work.

MyRacePass is an amazing success story in modern motorsports. The company found a way to harness and blend the powerful forces of racing passion and technology, bringing together motorsports people from every region and every discipline and across three generations. The bond that ties us all together is our insatiable appetite to always know more about the racing we love.

Media has changed a lot since I started, but one element that has never gone out of style is good storytelling. In whatever form, a good story is a driving force that affects all of us. Being informed is not enough; we want to be entertained.

That’s why I’m so excited about this opportunity with MyRacePass. This is a fabulous way to connect with you, among a wide array of racing people. There are so many great stories about how our sport got here, and the characters and events that have made racing interesting and special. The folks at MyRacePass have given us a fresh space to share the many stories we’ve encountered.

We can celebrate our past, present, and future—together, right here, every other Saturday. What a deal!

There’s a lot of content out there today, and a lot of competition for our attention and headspace. I’ve become very jealous with how I spend my time, and I’ll bet you have, too. If we’re going to invest one minute, five minutes, 20 minutes in reading or watching something, it had better be good. So my promise to you is that we’ll do our best to fill this space with interesting, entertaining content.

Most of the time our content will be a written story. But sometimes it will be a video, or something you can listen to. In whatever form, we will work hard to make it worthy of your time.

You can find a detailed rundown of my media career here. The short version is this: Throughout my career I have prided myself on putting the reader and viewer first, with honesty and integrity. We don’t burn things down here; my nature is positive and upbeat and that has always been the driving force in our storytelling.

Most of all, we’ll enjoy bringing you something different. Unique. Maybe something you’ve never heard before, or a story of someone you haven’t thought about in a long time. We like to try and have fun in the process, too. Our goal is that when you reach the end of our story, you wish there was more.

This much I know for sure: We are grateful that MyRacePass has invited us to come aboard. And we’re grateful for you, allowing us into your world to share a story or two from along the way.
