Lucas Oil Speedway 2024 Most Popular Driver voting enters the final two weeks
WHEATLAND, MO. (Oct. 17, 2024) - Voting for Lucas Oil Speedway's 2024 Most Popular Driver award is entering the home stretch, with balloting closing at midnight on Oct. 31.
Fans are asked to cast their vote in online balloting to determine the award for the Big Adventure RV Weekly Championship Series. Fans can cast their vote at LucasOilSpeedway.com/vote as the top 10 drivers in season points in the Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modifieds, Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mods, Hermitage Lumber POWRi Late Models and O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars are eligible.
One vote per valid email address is permitted. Fans also can submit a write-in vote if they choose.
Mitchell Franklin of Camdenton, in the B-Mod division, won Most Popular Driver balloting in 2023.
Winner of the award will be announced at Lucas Oil Speedway's Postseason Awards banquet on Nov. 23 at The Resort at Lake of the Ozarks in Lake Ozark. Banquet tickets are $40 and can be reserved by contacting Nichole McMillan in the Lucas Oil Speedway office at (417) 282-5984. RSVP deadline is Nov. 1.
A social hour will kick off the festivities from 6-7 with dinner and the awards ceremony to follow. Along with track champions, the top 10 in each division of the Big Adventure RV Weekly Championship Series will be recognized and receive their prizes.
In addition to the Most Popular Driver, other specialty awards will include Best Appearing Race Car in each of the four divisions and the winner of the Forrest Lucas Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to the sport.
Along with drivers, family members, crew and sponsors the event is open to the general public. The Resort at Lake of the Ozarks is located at 3076 Bagnell Dam Blvd, Lake Ozark. Room reservations can be made at (573) 693-9988 with the Code: 2024 Lucas Oil Awards Banquet.
There will be a live band at the Encore Lakeside Bar & Grill following the banquet.
Monster Trucks wrap up season on Saturday: The loud and powerful annual ending to Lucas Oil Speedway's season arrives this Saturday night when the O'Reilly Auto Parts Outlaw Nationals "Eve of Destruction" returns.
Ten of the nation's leading Monster Trucks - the most-ever at the event - will be in action to headline the program. Scheduled to be on hand will be Over Bored, Wild Side, Twisted Addiction, Terminal Velocity, Uproar, Velociraptor, Rockwell Red, Block Head, Dirt Crew and TailGator.
Pro and Stock Tuff Truck Racing also will be on the program, along with Monster Truck Backflip, a Might Monster Bus Ride Truck where for $15 spectators can strap in and take a ride around the track). Trick or treating will take place with fans encouraged to come to the track in their favorite costume.
Gates open at 4 p.m. with a Pit Party and Driver Autograph session from 4:30-6:15 p.m. The on-track action begins at 7 p.m.
