Bagley keeps title hopes alive in CCSDS Cotton Pickin’ at Magnolia

Morgan Bagley entered this weekend’s COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Cotton PIckin’ facing a 30-point deficit to first-place points runner Logan Martin. Despite several challenges, Bagley cut into Martin’s lead in the event at Magnolia Motor Speedway as the season neared its conclusion.

When racing kicked off at the 3/8-mile track in Columbus, Mississippi, on Friday, 45 CCSDS teams were on hand seeking a $20,000 first-place payday. After a forgettable qualifying effort, Bagley steered his P&W Sales No. 14M Super Late Model to eighth in his heat race. As a result, he was unable to lock into Saturday’s main event and was forced to run a B-Main.

In his Saturday “B,” Bagley was scored 10th with a DNF, but used a provisional to start the 60-lap feature from the 23rd spot. He advanced nine positions and finished 14th. Additionally, Martin suffered a mechanical failure, shrinking his lead to 22 points over Bagley with two races remaining.
