Kyle Hammers earns Rookie of the Year honors with MARS Modified Championship

Wrapping up the season with the MARS Modified Championship Series, Kyle Hammer rolled into Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway for a doubleheader weekend.

With 40 Modifieds packed in the pit area for the finale, Hammer opened up the weekend with a fourth-place outing in Friday's $2,000-to-win feature.

Chasing a $5,000 payday on Saturday evening, Kyle finished third in his heat and started 12th in the 40-lap main event where he would move forward four positions to land inside the Top-10 in eighth.

The pair of Top-10 finishes was enough for Hammer to earn Rookie of the Year honors with the series.
