Brian Shirley doubles down at Fairbury Speedway in FALS Frenzy

Prepping for Dirt Track World Championship and WoO World Finals

CHILTON, Wis. (10/05/24) – Brian Shirley soared to his third straight victory over the weekend with a MARS Late Model Championship sweep in the two-day FALS Frenzy at Fairbury Speedway aboard his Bob Cullen Racing / Thomason Express No. 3s J&J Ventures & Gaming/ Hoker Trucking / Longhorn Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Following a dominating performance in Friday’s 40-lap preliminary, Shirley overtook Myles Moos on lap 17 of Saturday’s finale and led the rest of the 50-lapper to increase his weekend earnings to $17,000.

"It's been almost a dream season for us after how bad the season started," Shirley said. "Definitely a little emotional, it's first race that I've had my whole family literally to come to a race. So it's a pretty proud moment ... I apologize for the messed up interview, but emotions are just pretty rough right now."

Fresh off a World of Outlaws triumph last Saturday, Brian Shirley raced close to home over the weekend for the Edelman FALS Frenzy at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway with the MARS Championship Late Model Series.

With 40 Late Models signed in on Friday afternoon, Shirley raced his way into the $5,000-to-win opener and led wire-to-wire to score the victory over Brandon Sheppard and Jason Feger.

On Saturday night, Brian once again picked up a heat race win and started third in the 50-lap finale. Shirley briefly ran second and took the top spot on lap 17 before he fought off Dennis Erb Jr. in the closing laps to take home the checkered flag. Brian recorded his third-straight victory and pocketed $12,000 for his efforts.

Shirley and the Bob Cullen Racing team will sit idle this weekend to prepare for their final events in 2024.

Next weekend, Shirley will join the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Eldora Speedway for the 44th Annual Dirt Track World Championship. Prelims on Friday set the stage for the $100,000-to-win LOLMDS season finale.
