Bryson Lopez Racing set to bring Carter Whalen Racing into the team

Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR) made a conscious decision before the 2024 race season started to give back to the new generation of racers rising through the ranks. Blessed to run two Late Models, the BLR team agreed that investing in a young driver would allow them to give another aspiring racer the opportunities they've been afforded in this otherwise very competitive and sponsor-driven sport.

Over the course of the year BLR honed in on a young team comprised of 15-year-old Carter Whalen and his 16-year-old brother Brayden Whalen. Guided by their father, Terrence, these boys have raced together as a team for over eight years from Carter's tenure in Quarter Midgets to the Pro Truck he drives now. Brayden acts as not just full-on crew chief, wrenching on the truck, but also as chief spotter for his brother. Both boys work together on their truck at the shop and the racetrack.

Their hard work earned them the track championship at Cordele (Georgia) Motor Speedway in 2023, and a fourth-place result in championship points at Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, Alabama, in 2024. This small, family-operated team guided by Carter and Brayden's parents, Terrence and Andrea Whalen, sparked the attention of the BLR team as they competed against them in the Pro Truck championship at Mobile.

After getting to know the Carter Whalen Racing team and family, understanding their unique story and realizing that their core values aligned with Team BLR, the decision was made to award Carter Whalen Racing with the opportunity to run a Late model full-time alongside Byson Lopez Racing.

Carter Whalen Racing will now be POWERED by Bryson Lopez Racing, allowing this young, talented racer and his family the amazing opportunity they once only dreamed of. Carter will finish out the 2024 season with the Snowball Derby at Pensacola, Florida's Five Flags Speedway in his Pro Truck, then he’ll make his debut in the CWR powered by BLR No. 23 Late Model in 2025!
