Horton competes in three divisions for Alabama State Championship; podium finish with Crate Racin' USA
Competing in a trio of Late Model classes for the weekend, Austin Horton checked into East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Friday afternoon for the Alabama State Championship.
In Limited Late Model competition, Horton qualified fourth-quickest and scored a Top-5 finish in the A-Main with a fourth-place outing.
With his 602 Sportsman Late Model, Austin dealt with mechanical issues in qualifying and was unable to transfer out of a B-Main.
For the $10,000-to-win Crate Racin' USA main event, Horton won his heat on Saturday which slated him for the front-row of the 50-lap main event. Austin ran third in Sunday's feature as he trailed Randy Weaver and Ricky Culpepper while Matt Henderson and Montana Dudley completed the Top-5.
