Up And Down Weekend For Setser During USAC National Sprint Car Debut
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 14, 2024) The definition of an up-and-down weekend, Gunnar Setser made his debut with the USAC Amsoil Sprint Car National Championship over the weekend at Circle City Raceway and Tri-State Speedway with KO Motorsports.
Setting the bar in Qualifying on Friday at Circle City, Setser followed that up with a last-lap move to lock into the feature event. Starting 15th, he would make his way forward to 12th and earned the Inferno Armor Fire Move of the Night in the process.
Moving to the Haubstadt Hustler on Saturday night, things did not go as well, with Setser flipping hard in his Heat Race. Thrashing to get the car ready for the Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Semi Feature, Setser was able to move on but saw his night end violently with a flip that started at the flagstands and ended in the middle of the first turn.
Despite the rough ending, Gunnar did what most fail to do by making the feature in his first attempt, only to do it again the following night.
