Tim Ward returns to Boone for 42nd Super Naitonals
2023 Modified Super Nationals champion Tim Ward returned to Boone (IA) Speedway on Wednesday afternoon to compete in his preliminary night for the 42nd running of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.
After an early tangle in Wednesday’s feature ended his night, Ward posted a fifth-place finish in his prelim on Thursday.
Getting collected in another driver’s mess in Friday’s program, Tim was forced to wait until Saturday for another chance at qualifying for the main event.
Following a Last Chance Qualifier heat win, Ward advanced into the $10,000-to-win IMCA Super Nationals finale with a consolation victory on Saturday night. Despite an early tangled that sentenced him to the tail, Tim rallied late in the 40-lap affair to finish 13th.
