Rain Gets Lancaster's September 7th Racing Program

LANCASTER, N.Y. (September 7, 2024) – Lancaster Motorplex was forced to cancel the Saturday, September 7th stock car program due to the forecasted rain and unfavorable conditions. Speedway management is looking at possibly being able to reschedule the Season Championship event.

Any possible reschedule date will be announced on the Lancaster Motorplex social media pages and the website, www.lancastermotorplexny.com

Racing returns to Lancaster Motorplex on Friday September 27 and Saturday September 28th for the 36th US Open Weekend. On Friday, September 27, qualifying heats will be run for the Insinger Performance/VP Race Fuels Sportsman, Monroe Extinguisher Street Stocks, Mighty TQ Midgets, Late Models, Super Stocks, and 4 Cylinders. The 4 Cylinders will take center stage with their US Open race under the lights on the Lancaster ¼-mile oval. Friday, pit gates open at 3pm, grandstand gates and practice will take place at 5:30pm, and racing will get underway at 8pm.

Then on Saturday, qualifying heats will take place for the Rusty Diamond Core Pro 4s and the Tour-Type Modifieds will take place. Then we will head to feature mode. The Tour-Type Modifieds will run a 101-lap event. The 101 comes from the track’s 65th anniversary plus the 36 for the 36th running of the US Open. The Insinger Performance/VP Race Fuels Sportsman will race their 50-lap showdown, and the Monroe Extinguisher Street Stocks will race in a 35-lap feature. The Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4’s will race in their 15-lap event. The Mighty TQ Midgets will race their 20-lap feature. The Super Stocks will race a 40-lap race. The Late Models will run a 30-lap event.
