After a month off due to rain-outs and hurricanes, we finally got back on the track last night at Gulf Coast Speedway

Blake and Brantley were given the opportunity to carry the flags on their cars during the Parade lap / National Anthem, and they were pumped!

Blake started 7th place in his heat race and finished 3rd, heck of a run! His kart seemed to run funny in the staging lane but did fine on the track. He made some good moves in the race and patiently worked his way up to P3. This allowed him to start outside of the front row in the feature!
In the feature, he took off from the staging lane to begin his pace lap, and the car stalled in turn 2. The track crew fired it right back up for him and he was able to get back to the back of the line, but the track crew failed to give him his original starting spot back like they normally would. I'm sure it was a simple mistake. In the future, Blake will go 'take' his normal spot back, and make the crew move him if needed. Regardless, he made his way up to 4th and was challenging for 3rd place again when his car started to run noticeably slower. He fell off the 3rd place pace significantly but was able to hang on and salvage a 4th place finish. I believe he's having carburetor issues. Despite draining the fuel bowl every time we trailer it, sitting up for over a month probably didn't help. We will learn and improve! All in all, a good night! Seat time is the best thing these rookies can get, and he got a full night's worth of it including the Parade laps with his brother!
