Brennon Willard returns to CCSDS at Outlaw and Springfield
Two starts with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) were on the schedule for Brennon Willard over the weekend as he made his first appearance with the organization since April.
On Friday, Willard’s No. 3 Super Late Model was part of a 21-car, $5,000-to-win CCSDS program at the 3/8-mile Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha, Oklahoma. Willard drove to a sixth-place finish in his heat race and started 16th on the grid in the 30-lap feature. He finished 19th after battling oil pump issues throughout the evening.
The next night, the CCSDS slate shifted to Springfield (Missouri) Raceway for another $5,000-to-win program that attracted 28 Super Late Model teams. Willard set quick time in his group during qualifying on the quarter-mile track, but then suffered a flat tire while leading his heat as he approached the white flag.
He rebounded to grab the fourth and final transfer spot in his B-Main to start 20th in the main event. He picked up four spots in the 40-lapper to come home 16th.
