Marlar finishes fourth in Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury Speedway

Mike Marlar and the Skyline Motorsports team were back in action on Monday at Davenport (IA) Speedway for the two-day event with the XR Super Series.

With recent rain making for rough track conditions, Marlar started the night off with a heat race victory but retired with 10 laps remaining in the feature.

Tuesday’s $15,000-to-win Davenport Deal finale fell to inclement weather.

On Wednesday, Mike invaded Fairbury (IL) Speedway to kick off the annual Prairie Dirt Classic with the Castrol FloRacing Night in America-sanctioned One for the Road. Pinned on the 12th row for the feature after squeezing into the 50-lapper with a runner-up consolation finish, Marlar was credited with a 21st-place finish after pulling off on lap 32.

In a brand new day on Friday at the Illinois oval, Marlar timed in third-fastest in his 39-car field in time trials before picking up a dominating 25-lap victory in his showdown feature. He earned $5,000 for his efforts.

Mike’s weekend concluded with a fourth-place finish in the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic finale on Saturday. He trailed Bobby Pierce, Nick Hoffman, and Daulton Wilson to the checkers with Chase Junghans coming in fifth.
