Timms Tops Xtreme Outlaw Series Opener at Spoon River Speedway

Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series Oklahoma Doubleheader Up Next

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (07/23/24) – Ryan Timms claimed his 10th win of the season over the weekend with a dominant, flag-to-flag victory in the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series opener at Spoon River Speedway aboard his Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports / JBL Audio / Toyota No. 67 Midget.

The 25-lap triumph worth $4,000 marked Timms' second Xtreme Outlaw-POWRi Challenge Series win of the 2024 campaign.

Despite a late-race caution with nine laps remaining, Timms' perfected the high groove en route to the commanding victory.

“Before that caution, I was kinda peeling off of the cushion off Turn 2 and turning down and making the straightaway longer,” Timms said. “But after that caution, I just stayed all the way up against it and it felt way better. I think I was actually faster doing that. I just gotta say thanks to my family, my crew, and all the sponsors that help me live out my dream. I couldn't do it without you guys.”

The ultra-busy race week kicked off in the 410 Sprint Car ranks on Tuesday with a visit to Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series-sanctioned Brad Doty Classic.

Racing into the second annual event with a fifth-place finish in his heat, Timms muscled forward seven spots in the 40-lapper to finish 12th.

For the Double Down Duels on Wednesday at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio), Ryan squeezed into the opener with a fourth-place showing in his consolation race. Charging from the 12th row, Timms improved 12 positions to record an impressive 12th-place finish.

Timms’ bid for the $100,000-to-win Jokers Jackpot on Thursday drew to a close with 13th-place finish in his B-Main.

Hopping behind the wheel of the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports No. 67 Midget on Friday at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Ill.), Timms led flag-to-flag in the 25-lap Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series opener to secure the $4,000 payday and his 10th win of the season.

The weekend drew to a close for Timms with a fifth-place finish in the finale at the Illinois oval. He chased Cannon McIntosh, Hayden Reinbold, Jacob Denney, and Zach Daum to the checkers.

Ryan is currently second in the latest Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series point standings.
