Ashton Winger
Fourth-place finish in Hell Tour week four opener at Old No. 1 Speedway
Ashton Winger continued his Hell Tour travels on Tuesday afternoon by checking into Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Ark.) with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
With a stout 42-car field on hand, Winger picked up a heat race victory and redrew a No. 3 for the $5,000-to-win main event. Quickly moving into the runner-up spot, Ashton was running down Tanner English before contact with a lapped car slowed him down. Winger was still able to manage a fourth-place finish.
Wednesday's event at Benton (Mo.) Speedway was washed out.
Charging in his heat race at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Ark.) on Thursday, Winger finished just outside the Top-5 in sixth in the $5,000-to-win feature.
Racing for $10,000 on Friday evening, Ashton qualified third-fastest at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway before mechanical issues in his heat race resulted in a DNF. Winger loaded up early and headed home.
Saturday's HTFSDS event at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway was rained out.
