Stevens follows XR Super Series to Minnesota and Wisconsin

Tyler Stevens began a six-day slate of racing during Fourth of July week with a trio of XR Super Series starts from Monday through Wednesday.

During the first two nights, he piloted the Keith Hammett-owned No. 29 Super Late Model in two $15,000-to-win shows that made up the Superior Showcase.

The racing kicked off Monday at Proctor (Minnesota) Speedway, where Stevens was part of a 26-car field. He utilized a fourth-place finish in his heat race to start on the sixth row in the 40-lap feature. He slipped one position and came home 13th on the 3/8-mile oval.

The next night, the schedule shifted to the 4/10-mile Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin, where 27 Super Late Models were checked in. Stevens again claimed fourth in his heat and rolled off 12th in the 35-lap A-Main. However, he ran into trouble and recorded a DNF with a 26th-place result.

On Wednesday, the series moved back to the Land of 10,000 Lakes and Stevens climbed aboard his familiar No. 2 ride for the $50,000-to-win Minnesota Mega at Ogilvie Raceway. Thirty-three Super Late Model drivers were at the 3/8-mile speed plant vying for a starting spot in the main event. Stevens nabbed fourth in his heat for the third night in a row, positioning home 13th to start the feature. He took the checkered flag in the same position after a caution-free race.

Next, Stevens will compete with the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models in the Gopher 50 from Thursday through Saturday at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota.
