Hoffman claims WoO's Heartland Grand Tour Event at Norman County

Nick Hoffman collected his sixth victory of the season on Saturday night at Norman County Raceway. His latest voyage to Victory Lane came in World of Outlaws (WoO) CASE Late Model Series action with his Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 C&W Trucking / Longhorn Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Hoffman had to endure a two-lap dash to the checkers to get the win.

“(When they threw) that caution with one to go, it’s all ‘that sucks’ and you just gotta make sure you kinda use up enough race track that Devin (Moran) can’t get back by,” Hoffman said. “I felt like there at the beginning I was kinda pacing myself and obviously those guys kinda swarmed me and I got back (to) fifth or sixth, but I just kept my tires underneath me, I felt like at the end that was kinda what saved my ass.

“We’ve got another busy week of racing in front of, but we are ready for the challenge. I can’t say enough about this Tye Twarog Racing team and everyone, who supports us.”

Nick Hoffman kicked off a week-long of racing with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series on Monday with a trip to Independence (Iowa) Motor Speedway for the Storm Shield Shootout.

With the opener offering a $10,000 top prize, Hoffman jumped to an early race lead in the feature but couldn’t contain Bobby Pierce’s mid-race charge amid lapped-traffic. After leading laps 1-17, Nick settled with a third-place finish in the 40-lapper.

The following night at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa), Nick finished fourth in his heat race before climbing four positions in the feature to finish sixth.

After Thursday’s scheduled stop at I-94 EMR Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minn.) fell to wet weather and Friday’s event at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.) was shifted to Sunday, Hoffman raced into Saturday night’s Heartland Grand Tour A-Main at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minn.) with a heat race win.

Making his move to the front late in the 50-lap affair, Nick outran Devin Moran in the final 10 laps to secure his sixth win of the season and his sixth-career World of Outlaws triumph. He bagged the $15,000 payday ahead of Moran, Brandon Sheppard, Brian Shirley, and Cade Dillard.

Hoffman’s weekend concluded with a 12th-place finish in the $12,000-to-win finale at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.) on Sunday. After early contact with another competitor left him with damage to his right-front nose, Nick steered his ill-handling entry to a 12th-place outing.

Nick is currently 30 points behind Brandon Sheppard for the lead in the latest World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series point standings.
