Hoffman tallies a trio of top-10's at Smoky Mountain and Ultimate
Friday night found Nick Hoffman in action at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Mountain Moonshine Classic.
Drawing 42 Late Models for the two-day event, Hoffman advanced into Friday’s preliminary with a fourth-to-second heat showing. With a $10,000 payday up for grabs, Nick steered to an eighth-place finish aboard his Tye Twarog Motorsports No. 9 Late Model.
On Saturday, Nick squeezed into the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic with the final transfer spot in his heat race. Charging from the seventh row, Hoffman gained six positions in the 60-lap affair to finish eighth.
Capping off the weekend with his third consecutive top-10 outing on Sunday, Hoffman recorded a sixth-place finish in the inaugural Sidney Langston Memorial at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.).
