Carson Ferguson stays consistent in busy three-day weekend with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Back with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Carson Ferguson and the Paylor Motorsports team checked into Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Mountain Moonshine Classic.
Among 42 Late Models, Ferguson fell back four positions in his heat race before grabbing the final A-Main transfer spot in his last chance showdown. Making up six positions in the 40-lap opener, Carson wound up 16th for the second night in a row.
For Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale, Carson started 10th and faded in the 60 lapper to finish 16th.
Tagging on an extra race to his weekend, Carson was in attendance at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) on Sunday for the Sidney Langston Memorial. With $15,000 on the line, Ferguson was running inside the Top-5 when overheating issue forced him to pull in early.
