Princeton, MN (June 14) – Sprint Cars invaded the Princeton Speedway on Friday night with the UMSS and MN Micro Sprints stopping by for a race night. The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets also accompanied the Sprints for a night of WISSOTA Dirt Track Race Action.

The UMSS Traditional Sprints began the night’s features with Jake Kouba and Ken Hron on row one. After a few attempts to turn some caution free laps, Chris Lewis grabbed the point with Mike Mueller in second. Jake Kouba held third while Mueller moved to the inside of Lewis. Mueller made the pass for second while Kouba put pressure on Lewis with lapped traffic mixed in. A caution reset the field with seven laps to go, however not much change occurred in the top drivers and the final laps were completed with a few additional cautions. Mike Mueller claimed the win while the remaining top points went to Jake Kouba Chris Lewis, Jack Berger, and Brad Peterson.

Ashton Schulte and Joey Wagamon brought the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds around the track for the next feature and Schulte claimed the immediate lead. Joey Wagamon, Ben Lewis and Cole Elton raced close for positions two through four, with Jason VandeKamp and Cole Boston right behind. Schulte began to stretch his lead while the race for second remained close. A couple cautions kept the drivers at a stop and go pace, Schulte remained in the top point, while VandeKamp and Elton kept on the pressure. Elton gave the #11 a couple of runs, however Ashton Schulte held his line and took his first ever feature win. Jason VandeKamp snagged second with Ryan Putnam, Cole Elton and Cole Boston rounding out the top five.

Tony Kaus and Dani Aldrich sped off when the green waved for the UMSS Winged Sprints. Kaus took the immediate lead while drivers battled for positions. A car spun in turn one bringing the caution out, and after the race resumed, Chase Viebrock grabbed the lead. Viebrock quickly found himself in traffic as cars covered the entire race surface. Laps passed without incidence while Viebrock ran multiple lanes and cruised by the slower drivers. Chase Viebrock had no problem getting the win wrapped up as he took the checkers, followed by Owen Carlson, Mike Mueller, Jeremy Snow and Todd Hansen as the top competitors.

The final Sprint class of the night took the track, and the Minnesota Micro Sprints were geared up for the green. Joe Snow took the early lead, and although a caution occurred a couple laps in, Snow remained in command. Four drivers battled close for second and even ran three-wide a time or two, until Luke Lane grabbed the point. Lane raced to Snow’s rear and kept close with the race half over. Snow put space between himself and Lane but had a slower car in his view. Lane raced to Snow’s door and as they went three-wide with the slower car, contact occurred between the cars and a caution was triggered. Snow sped away when the green reappeared while Lane, Jensrud and Caleb Moen went three-wide for second with three laps to go. Contact again occurred amongst the top drivers triggering a caution, however the checkers also waved and Joe Snow took the win. Luke Lane, Carter Jensrud, Tyler Pelofske and Owen Henrichs rounded out the top five.

Charlie Shiek and Steve Eggersgluess lined up row one for the WISSOTA Street Stocks, and drivers were three-wide as the green dropped. Shiek snagged the top point with Kyle Howland and Andrew Hanson on his rear. The top three kept close for the lead, and exited turn four three-wide. Howland and Hanson moved ahead of Shiek, and remained door to door as laps passed. As a driver slowed on the back stretch, Hanson and Howland slowed and split apart to make the pass, which allowed Hanson to break free of Howland. The checkers came into view, and Andrew Hanson took the win after a refreshing caution free race. Kyle Howland settled in second with Charlie Shiek, Keith Tourville and Kaden Woodie as the top drivers.

The WISSOTA Hornets rolled on the track for the final race with Jonathan Aderman and Bobie Arnes on row one. With curfew on the line, the Hornets ran a quick 10 Lap feature with a great battle as the race went green. Drivers remained door to door from nose to tail the entire first laps until Arnes edged out the lead. The final race of the night went by quickly without issue and Bobie Arnes claimed the win. Jonathan Aderman, Anthony Jenson, Alex Aderman and Jena Hagemann rounded out the top five points.

Racing will resume next Friday at 7:00pm featuring the DRC WISSOTA Street Stock Tour, the make-up Super Stock feature from May and the MN Micro Sprints will be back.
