Tyler Clem kicks off Hell Tour title hunt during first week of Summer Nationals
Planning to tackle the entirety of the Hell Tour, Tyler Clem unloaded the Big Frog Motorsports No. 58 at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway for the opening round of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
With a stout 32-car field on hand, Clem took a provisional for the 30-lap feature and made up seven positions to finish 15th.
Thursday's $5,000-to-win event at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway was cancelled due to severe weather in the area.
At Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) on Friday, Clem qualified ninth-quickest in his group but fell backwards in his heat race and last chance showdown which prevented him from making the main event.
On Saturday, Clem joined a week-high 49 Late Models at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway for a $10,000-to-win show. Struggling to find speed in qualifying, Tyler played catch up all evening and did not crack the A-Main lineup.
The week's finale at Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Ill.) was also rained out after a late shower washed out the racetrack.
