Third-place finish in Appalachian Mountain Speedweek opener at Clinton County
Kicking off his pursuit for the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek (AMS) title, Matt Cosner joined a stout field of 39 Super Late Models competitors on Friday at Clinton County Motor Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) for the first round of the eight-race miniseries.
With a third-place dash finish placing him on the third row for the Sam Ray Memorial A-Main, Cosner climbed three spots in the 35-lap affair to register a third-place finish, trailing Tyler Emory and Drake Troutman across the line.
In Saturday’s AMS stop at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Matt backed up a runner-up finish in his heat with a 12th-to-6th run in the 50-lap feature.
Cosner’s weekend concluded with another sixth-place finish in Sunday’s AMS visit to Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.).
With the first three events in the books, Matt is currently second in the Appalachian Mountain Speedway title hunt.
