Wil Herrington records pair of fourth-place finishes at Swainsboro and Cochran

Back behind the wheel of his family-owned No. 14 ride, Wil Herrington checked into Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Southern Showcase.

With 29 HTFSDS Late Models, Herrington locked himself into the $5,000-to-win feature in qualifying and made up four spots in the 30-lap shootout to land inside the Top-5 in fourth. He trailed Brandon Overton, Sam Seawright, and Carson Ferguson while Michael Page completed the Top-5.

Missing the setup on Saturday evening, Wil took a provisional starting spot for the $20,000-to-win main event and made up seven spots to finish 15th.

Wil is currently eighth in the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series point standings.

Wrapping up the weekend Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway on Sunday, Herrington qualified second-fastest out of 24 Late Models and finished just off the podium in fourth for the $7,500-to-win Georgia Rumble.
