Fourth-place outing with World of Outlaws; Runner-up with Mid-East Supers at Fayetteville
Defending his home turf with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series in town, Benji Hicks unloaded his T&K Enterprises No. 55 Late Model at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) for preliminary night of the Ultimate Showdown.
Clocking in fourth-fastest in his stacked qualifying group, Hicks earned a second-row starting spot for the $4,000-to-win prelim. With only 25-laps to work with, Benji battled for a spot on the podium but ultimately settled for a fourth-place finish. He trailed Ross Bailes, Ryan Gustin, and Ben Watkins while Brian Shirley completed the Top-5.
Unfortunately, Saturday's $35,000-to-win main event was rained out.
Ending his Memorial Day weekend at Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway for the $10,000-to-win Summer Kickoff, Hicks started the $10,000-to-win feature from the second-row and made up two spots to finish runner-up to Ryan Gustin.
