Clay Harris races into Show-Me 100 with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
On Thursday afternoon, Clay Harris unloaded his Rescue Metal Farming No. 6 at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the first night of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Show-Me 100 weekend.
With a strong 63-car field on hand for Thursday's Cowboy Classic, Harris came up a few spots short of making the A-Main after a sixth-place finish in his B-Main.
Finding more speed for Friday's show, Harris finished third in his heat race before losing four spots in the 40-lap feature to finish 17th.
Starting on the front-row of a B-Main on Saturday, Clay raced his way into the Show-Me 100 main event after picking up the final transfer position in the last B-Main. Rolling off 24th in the main event, Harris slowly moved forward throughout the 80-lap feature to finish 13th.
Making the long haul to Duck River Raceway Park (Shelbyville, Tenn.) overnight, Harris joined the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals for their series finale. With a $10,053 payday on the line, Clay was running inside the Top-5 when a faulty battery ended his race early. He was scored with a DNF in 20th.
Harris is currently 14th in the LOLMDS point standings.
