Jackson Jr. takes part in Show-Me 100 finale

Lebanon, Missouri, native Tony Jackson Jr. raced on three nights in his home state during Memorial Day weekend as part of the crown-jewel Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway. Up against tough competition in the event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), Jackson earned a spot in Saturday’s main event.

Preliminary action kicked off on Thursday with the Cowboy Classic, bringing 63 LOLMDS and MLRA Super Late Models to the 3/8-mile facility in Wheatland, Missouri. Jackon took sixth in his heat race and fourth in his B-Main, meaning he missed the 45-lap, $10,000-to-win feature by just two positions.

On Friday, another $10,000 first-place check was up for grabs in the Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson. With 59 Super Late Models on the property, Jackson drove to a sixth-place result in his heat and third in his B-Main to come up just one spot shy of a transfer into the 40-lap feature race.

The following day, 63 LOLMDS and MLRA competitors descended on Lucas Oil Speedway to compete for a $50,000 winner’s share in the 32nd annual Show-Me 100 finale. Jackson came home third in one of three B-Mains for the second consecutive night and missed a transfer spot by just one position. However, he used an MLRA provisional to start 29th in the 80-lap main event. He recorded a 28th-place finish.

After the Show-Me 100, Jackson sits tied for fourth in the MLRA point standings.
