Groomer soars to first win of 2024 at Lincoln Park Speedway
Derek Groomer returned to the Modified ranks over the weekend with a pair of events aboard his Millikan Smiles No. D48 Modified entry.
On Friday afternoon at Bloomington Speedway (Bloomington, Ind.), Groomer edged his way into the opener with a fifth-place finish in his heat race. Rolling off on the fifth row, Derek was an early retiree from the 30-lapper on lap 19.
The following night at Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Ind.), Derek backed up a heat race victory with a sixth-to-fourth run in the dash. Starting the Buckeye Bob 33 A-Main in fourth, Groomer grabbed the lead on lap 29 and paced the final four circuits to claim his first win of the season and the $2,000 paycheck. He took the checkers ahead James Walters, Derek Losh, Tyler Loughmiller, and Cole Parker.
