Jensen Ford joins Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Georgetown and Port Royal

With his car owner's shop nearby, Jensen Ford made the quick trip to Georgetown (Del.) Speedway on Friday afternoon for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned $19,049-to-win Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.

In a stout 40-car field, Ford finished seventh in his heat race and finished sixth in his B-Main. Needing a Top-3 finish, Jensen watched the A-Main from the sidelines.

Saturday's event at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway was cancelled due to rain.

Finding more speed on Sunday afternoon at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway, Ford qualified ninth-quickest in his stacked group before finishing one spot out of a transfer in his heat race. Rolling off from the pole in his B-Main, Jensen faded to fourth and just barely missed the A-Main cutoff.
