Ross Robinson finishes fifth with LOLMDS at Georgetown
Defending his home turf against the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Ross Robinson made the short trip to Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.) on Friday to pilot his Commonwealth Equipment No. 7 Late Model for the track’s Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.
Coming out the gate firing, Ross laid down the second-fastest time in his qualifying group before placing first in his heat race. Taking the green in fourth for the $19,049-to-win A-Main, Robinson lost one spot in the 49-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He chased Ricky Thornton Jr., Devin Moran, Garrett Alberson, and Jonathan Davenport to the checkers.
After Saturday’s Conococheague 50 at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.) fell to wet weather, the weekend concluded for Robinson on Sunday with the Battle in the Borough at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.). Starting the feature in 15th via the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race, Ross rolled a consistent 15th-place finish in the 40-lap finale.
