Troutman third with ULMS at Williams Grove Speedway
With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) doubleheader shifted by Mother Nature, Drake Troutman made a surprise start at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) on Friday for the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series (ULMS) sanctioned contest.
Lined up second for the opener via preliminary results, Troutman lost one spot in the 20-lapper to register a third-place finish, chasing Tyler Emory and Justin Weaver across the line.
Rejoining the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Saturday at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) for the 27th annual Indiana Icebreaker, Drake was forced to take a provisional into the $15,000-to-win A-Main after losing ground in his heat and B-Main. Starting in 23rd, Troutman muscled forward five positions to salvage an 18th-place outing.
On Sunday at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio), Troutman followed up sixth-place finish in his heat with a third-to-first run in his consolation race. With a $12,000 top prize up for grabs in the Buckeye Spring 50 A-Main, Drake was an early retiree from the 50-lap affair on the eighth circuit.
