Pair of podium finishes in Clash on the Coast
Back in action in the warmer weather of Florida, Dylan Thornton trekked to Northwest Florida Speedway (Baker, Fla.). on Monday to kick off the second annual Clash on the Coast.
Aboard his Salty’s BBQ & Catering No. 38T Modified, Thornton backed up a third-to-first showing in his heat with a third-place finish in the opener. He chased Jeff Larson and Jeff Taylor across the line in the 25-lapper.
On Tuesday, Dylan found motor issues after charging up to fourth in his heat, sidelining his Modified for the remainder of the week.
Hopping behind the wheel of the Damon Murty-owned No. 99DRT Stock Car on Thursday at Southern Raceway (Milton, Fla.), Thornton went fourth-to-first in his heat before placing second in the feature, trailing Dallon Murty to the checkers. He led early but lost ground after tagging an infield tire.
After Friday’s program fell to wet weather, the weekend wrapped up with Thornton finishing 16th in Saturday’s Clash on the Coast finale.
