Jason and Jack Riggs close out Lucas Oil Speedweeks at East Bay Raceway Park
Both Jack and Jason Riggs invaded East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, FL) on Tuesday afternoon to compete in the final Wieland Winternationals with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
With Monday's event postponed due to rain, Jack and Jason hit the track on Tuesday and found themselves in B-Mains. Jack did not start his B-Main while Jason battled hard but came up three spots short in fifth.
On Wednesday afternoon, Jack ran seventh in his B-Main and Jason once again finished three spots out of a transfer spot in fifth.
With the first five figure payday up for grabs on Thursday, Jack did not start his B-Main while Jason got buried in the back with an 11th-place outing.
As Monday's makeup event spanned multiple days, Jason qualified top of the board in Tuesday's qualifying session and finished runner-up in his heat race on Wednesday. Rolling off seventh in the $5,000-to-win main event, Jason collected a Top-10 finish in eighth. Jack was unable to sneak into the feature with a seventh-place finish in the B-Main.
Jack was once again a no-show in his B-Main on Friday while Jason charged forward four positions but was only able to get up to eighth.
Closing out the long week on Saturday, both drivers fell back in heat races and did not start their respective B-Mains.
