Fifth-place finish in Wieland Winternationals prelim at East Bay Raceway Park
With wet weather postponing Monday’s opener, Ross Robinson returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Tuesday as East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) hosted the final Wieland Winternationals.
After a fifth-place exit in his B-Main on Tuesday ended his night, Robinson raced into Wednesday’s preliminary feature with a flag-to-flag victory in his eight-lap heat race. Fading outside the top-10, Ross recorded a 16th-place finish.
For a pair of features on Thursday, Ross took a provisional into the $10,000-to-win prelim and went onto climb 10 positions to finish 15th.
During the same night for Monday’s rain delayed A-Main, Robinson marched forward six spots in the 30-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Brandon Sheppard, Brian Shirley, Devin Moran, and Hudson O’Neal across the line.
Ross’ weekend concluded with a 26th-place finish on Friday and 24th in Saturday’s $15,000-to-win Wieland WInternationals finale.
