Logan Zarin kicks off 2024 season at East Bay Raceway Park
The 2024 season officially kicked off for Hookstown, Pennsylvania’s, Logan Zarin on Tuesday with a trip to East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) for the final Wieland Winternationals.
Stacked against a field of 74 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Zarin stormed into Tuesday’s opener with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. With a $5,000 top prize up for grabs, Logan faded early and was never able to recover, crossing the line in 22nd.
On Wednesday, Logan’s seventh-place finish in his heat relegated him into a B-Main. Transferring only the top-two, Zarin nearly transferred from the fourth row, charging from eighth-to-fourth in the 10-lapper.
For a pair of events on Thursday, Zarin hurt a motor in his heat race that forced him to scratch for the remainder of Thursday’s program.
Pulling out his secondary car for Monday’s rainout, Logan was an early retiree from the 30-lap affair due to track conditions.
Zarin’s weekend came to an early end after a seventh-place result in Friday’s B-Main and sixth-place finish in Saturday’s consolation race, ending his bid for the $15,000-to-win Wieland Winternationals finale.
