Clay Harris kicks off 2024 season at Volusia Speedway Park for Sunshine Nationals
Clay Harris opened up his 2024 racing season on Friday afternoon at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) for the Crate Racin' USA-sanctioned Sunshine Nationals after Thursday's event was lost due to weather.
With a stacked 69-car field on the premises, Harris qualified 14th-quickest in his group and moved from seventh-to-fourth in the second preliminary feature to record a Top-5 finish.
Rolling off from the fifth-row in the $10,000-to-win feature on Saturday, Clay picked off six competitors on his way to a strong fourth-place outing. He trailed Matt Henderson, Caleb Gay, and Trynt Lloyd while Will Roland completed the Top-5.
