Ivey misses out on Lucas Oil Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora
Heading North to join the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Trent Ivey joined 61 other competitors at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Friday afternoon as the half-mile oval hosted the opening round of the 43rd running of the Dirt Track World Championship.
After Friday’s program was delayed to Saturday due to continuous rain, series’ and track officials made the decision to shift heat races scheduled for Saturday to Sunday with hopes for better track conditions.
On Sunday afternoon, Trent was relegated to a B-Main after finishing sixth in his heat race. With one more shot to make the $100,000-to-win A-Main, Ivey moved forward a couple spots but still fell short with a fourth-place finish in his B-Main.
