Harris tops DIRTcar UMP Modified field at Volusia Speedway Park

Spending the holiday weekend in the Sunshine State, Clay Harris traveled to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) on Saturday afternoon for the Labor Day Classic.

Competing in both the 604 Late Model and UMP Modified divisions, Clay earned the pole position in both feature events after charging forward in his heat races.

In the 20-lap 604 main event, Clay led the first three laps before giving up the lead to Nevin Gainey who went on to win the feature. Clay trailed Gainey at the checkered flag while Cole Exum completed the Top-3.

In the $1,500-to-win Modified A-Main, Harris jumped out to an early lead and led all 20-laps to score his second UMP victory at Volusia in 2023. He topped Dalton Lanich and Dillon Buhr who rounded out the Top-3.

For Sunday's portion of the event, Harris started the 25-lap feature for 604 Late Models from the second row and pulled off with just two laps remaining.
