Shipley runner-up on Oakshade championship night
Colin Shipley wrapped up a successful 2023 points campaign at Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio) on Saturday with a second-place finish.
Shipley opened the evening on the 3/8-mile clay oval by turning in the second-quickest time among 19 DIRTcar Late Models. He went on to start and finish second in his heat race behind the wheel of his Jim White Honda No. 44s ride.
In the feature, Shipley started fourth and climbed two spots to score a runner-up result, trailing only Devin Shiels under the checkered flag. Third place went to Brad Wade, with Casey Noonan and Jason Haskell finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Shipley finished second in track points, just 39 markers behind champion Shiels.
Friday’s scheduled portion of the Attica/Oakshade Late Model Challenge at Attica Raceway Park (Attica, Ohio) fell to inclement weather.
