Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series Ready for Road to ‘Dega 40 at North Alabama Speedway Friday August 11

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (August 5, 2023) – For the first time since 2017, the roar of Super Late Models will be heard at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL as the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will make its first-ever appearance at North Alabama Speedway on Friday August 11 for a main event that will pay $5,000 to win and pay $450 to start the 40-lap event.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will be at North Alabama Speedway for the first-time ever on Friday August 11 and will be featured in a full program of Denby’s J&J Construction Hot Laps, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Last Chance Heats, and the 40-lap, $5,000 to win/$450-to-start Road to ‘Dega 40 Valvoline A-Main event. Other divisions in competition with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series at North Alabama Speedway on Friday August 11 will be the track’s 602 Sportsman Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Mini Stocks, Vintage and Factory Stocks.

Activities at North Alabama Speedway on Friday August 11 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The Chattanooga Valley Auto Parts drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps and time trials beginning at 7:15 p.m. Ticket prices at North Alabama Speedway on Friday August 11 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults (children ages 10 and under free), while a pit pass will be $40 for adults (children ages 6-12 will be $20, while children ages 5 and under are free). All times listed are Central Daylight Time.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Left Front/Right Front: Hoosier NLMT 2 or NLMT 3; Left Rear: Hoosier NLMT 2 or NLMT 3; Right Rear: Hoosier NLMT 3 or NLMT 4 (there is no limit on the number of tires used; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the standardized body rules of WoO/Lucas). The entry fee will be $100 per event and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $50 tow money.

In addition, there will be a $100 bonus paid to the highest finishing Limited Late Model or 604 Late Model, with a $50 bonus paid to the second highest finishing Limited Late Model or 604 Late Model entry.
