Oberkramer takes Poplar Bluff CCSDS win

Mason Oberkramer joined the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) over the weekend and dominated the tour’s Friday night stop at Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park (Poplar Bluff, Missouri).

Oberkramer began the evening by setting quick time among 35 entrants with a 15.123-second lap on the 3/8-mile oval. The Broseley, Missouri, driver then won his heat race and began the night’s 40-lap A-Main from the pole position. He wired the field, taking the checkered flag by a 0.857-second margin over runner-up Kyle Beard. Billy Moyer Jr, Billy Moyer and B.J. Robinson completed the top five.

Oberkramer’s $5,000 triumph was his second A-Main victory this season and his first CCSDS win since July 2019.

On Saturday, the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series schedule shifted to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) for the Hillbilly 40. Thirty-five CCSDS Late Models were in the pit area at the 3/8-mile track.

After qualifying fourth in his group, Oberkramer started his heat race from the second spot. He came home fifth, one position shy of an automatic transfer into the $5,000-to-win main event. However, an unexpected downpour led to the event’s postponement. The completion date is set for Thursday, August 17, on the COMP Cams Topless 100 weekend.
