Bryan charges to ninth in Frank Sagi Tribute at Hagerstown
After sitting out Friday’s Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals opener at Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.) due to track conditions, Bryan Bernheisel kicked off his weekend on Saturday at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Va.) for the Junior Boone Memorial.
Following the sixth-fastest lap in a field of 27 cars, Bernheisel failed to make the call for his heat, relegating him to the tail of the feature. With $5,015 on the line, Bryan improved eight positions to salvage a 16th-place outing.
For the Frank Sagi Tribute on Sunday at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.), Bryan timed in third-fastest in his group before placing fourth in his heat. Starting the $5,015-to-win A-Main in 18th, Bernheisel advanced forward nine spots in the 50-lapper to cap off the weekend with a ninth-place run.
