Weather Postpones Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series Melvin Corum Memorial at Tazewell Speedway

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (May 28, 2023)- Officials with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series and Tazewell Speedway have decided to postpone the 5th Annual Melvin Corum Memorial scheduled for Sunday May 28 at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN due to unfavorable weather conditions.

With rains that have already fallen overnight that have left the grounds at Tazewell Speedway saturated, along with more predicted rainfall at various times throughout the day along with cooler temperatures forecasted, all parties have agreed that in the best interest of race teams and fans to postpone the event. The event will be rescheduled to a later date that will be announced in the next few days.

With a much better weather forecast for Memorial Day Monday, the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will conclude its 2023 Memorial Day weekend race schedule at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN on Monday May 29 with the running of the 11th Annual Scott Sexton Memorial paying $5,052 to win.
