Motor issue derails strong showing at Magnolia Motor Speedway

After wet weather axed Friday’s opener, Tyler Clem returned to the driver’s seat of the Big Frog Motorsports No. 58 Late Model on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) for the 20th annual Governor’s Cup.

With 45 Late Models amassed for the event co-sanctioned by Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS), Clem clocked in third-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. Slated to start the $10,000-to-win A-Main in sixth, Tyler suffered a blown motor before the start that forced him to hop in a competitors car to complete a lap and pull off.
