Ferguson battles bad luck at Talladega Short Track with World of Outlaws
Carson Ferguson began his early race-week on Thursday afternoon at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series-sanctioned Seymour Showdown.
With 47 Late Models on the grounds, Carson recorded a sixth-place finish in his heat race, relegating him to a B-Main. In the Last Chance Showdown, Ferguson flirted with a transfer spot but fell short with a fourth-place run.
Making his way to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday for the two-day Alabama Gang 100 event, Ferguson qualified his way into the second $4,000-to-win feature of the night and landed in the Top-10 with an eighth-place finish.
For the $50,000-to-win main event on Saturday, Carson followed up a third-place finish in his heat with a victory in his Last Chance Showdown. Rolling off 19th in the Alabama Gang 100, Ferguson completed four laps before slamming into another competitor down the back straightaway, ending his night early. He was scored 27th.
