EPJ lands Top-10 finish at Lucas Oil Speedway

Nearing two months since their last event, Earl Pearson Jr. and the Papich Racing team made the haul to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the two-day event to kick off the season for the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA).

Drawing 48 cars on Friday, Pearson topped the charts in his qualifying group before taking the checkered flag in his heat race. Gunning for the $5,000 prize from the pole position, Earl slipped back in the 40-lap feature to finish sixth.

With the field elevated to 50 entries on Saturday, EPJ recorded a runner-up finish in his heat to start from the fifth row in the 50-lap main event. With $10,000 on the line, Earl ran inside the Top-10 before fading to wind up 13th.
