Top-10 finish in season opener at Talladega Short Track
With Mother Nature wiping out the Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series opener a week prior, Jake Knowles kicked off his 2023 campaign on Friday afternoon at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the annual Ice Bowl. (Josh James Artwork)
With 41 Late Models on the grounds for the 32nd running of the two-day event, Jake stopped the clock fifth-fastest in his group before placing third in his heat.
Starting Saturday’s $3,000-to-win feature in 11th, Knowles gained three spots in the 40-lap affair to register an eighth-place finish.
