Blair Nothdurft
Top-10 finish in DIRTcar Nationals prelim at Volusia
On Monday, Bargain Barn Motorsports pilot, Blair Nothdurft, entered the Asphalt Paving Pros No. 76 Late Model into battle at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) for the 52nd annual Federated Auto Part DIRTcar Nationals.
Following a seventh-place outing in his heat, Blair missed a transfer spot by one car in his B-Main with a fourth-place finish.
On Tuesday, Blair topped the 51-car field in time trials with a blistering 15.601-second lap before placing first in his heat. With the redraw placing him on the second row for the preliminary feature, Nothdurft faded to a 21st-place finish after slipping over the cushion on the second circuit.
With the 52-car field divided into three groups on Wednesday, Nothdurft’s qualifying effort positioned him on the front row of his prelim. With $5,000 on the line, Blair scored a 10th-place finish in the 20-lapper.
On Thursday as the remainder of the week became World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series sanctioned, Blair came in fourth in his heat, relegating him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Nothdurft logged a fifth-place outing.
