Jordan and Jimmy Return to the Driver's Seat at Volusia

Jordan Koehler returned to the driver's seat on Monday night with the opening round of the 52nd annual Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.).

Forty-six drivers registered for action, and Jordan qualified fourth-fastest in his group before finishing sixth in his heat race. With only the Top-5 finishers in heat race action transferring to the feature, he was relegated to a B-Main. Registering a third-place finish in his B-Main he locked into the 26th-starting spot for the $7,000-to-win feature. He went on to advance two spots to finish 24th.

On Tuesday night both Jimmy Owens and Jordan Koehler led the team into action. Unfortunately both drivers fell short of earning a spot in the main event as their outing came to an early end.

The 51-car field was divided into three $5,000-to-win features on Wednesday evening. Jimmy qualified 13th fastest and went on to finish sixth in his 20-lap feature. Meanwhile, Jordan qualified ninth fastest and recorded an eighth-place finish.

Koehler Motorsports hoped for better for luck for its drivers in Friday's World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series program, but the struggles continued. Jimmy fell just short of transferring to the feature with a fifth-place finish in his Last Chance Showdown. Jordan's night also ended early with a 10th-place finish in his Last Chance Showdown.

Action continued on Friday night with both Jordan and Jimmy racing into the $12,000-to-win main event via heat race action. However, rain arrived before the feature could be contested, resulting in the remainder of the show being canceled.

Jordan's outing started on a rough note with mechanical issues in qualifying, which left him starting ninth in a heat race. He charged to a fifth-place finish in his heat race, and with only the Top-3 finishers locking into the feature he was relegated to a B-Main. A sixth-place finish in the B-Main ended his night early.

Jimmy Owens finished third in his heat race to lock into the 17th-starting spot for the 50-lap, $20,000-to-win feature, but was a lap-44 retiree and was credited with a 24th-place finish.
