Derek Snyder

Intersting night at Berlin

The NAVY Airzoo team traveled to one of Snyders favorite tracks with a renewed sense of excitement for what was looking to be a good finish. The day started great with the 22 car at the top of the board as the fastest of 25 cars in the Hot Lap sessions. Derek followed that up with a time of 13.2 which was only four one hundredths of a second off of pole sitter Kevin Feeneys time. Trying to chase the track all night, Snyders car kept getting worse. Snyder finished 4th in the heat race. The feature was a may lay of interesting officiating and competitor problems, which caused over 35 yellow laps. While Derek started good and was challenging for a possible top 5 finish, his right rear tire went away on him causing him to fall back to 9th. Snyder still had a great time greeting fans and signing autographs before and after the race for the greatest fans around. The team has been working hard this season and it seems like we're right around the corner from getting a win. This Finish will put Derek 7th in the AVSS points standings.
