With the 124-car field divided into two groups for a pair of $12,000-to-win preliminary features, Johnny edged his way into his prelim with a fourth-place finish in his heat while Stormy came in seventh. Needing to place second or better to make the feature, Stormy fell two spots short with a fourth-place outing. Johnny dropped one spot in the 25-lap affair to finish 16th.

Later Thursday night for heat races leading up to the Eldora Million, Johnny scored the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him 15th on the starting grid for the $1,002,022-to-win A-Main. Stormy followed up an 11th-place finish in his heat with an 18th-place outing in his B-Main, ending his night early. Losing one spot in the 101 lap feature, Johnny Scott posted a 16th-place outing.

On Friday as the 28th annual Dirt Late Model Dream got underway with a pair of prelims, Johnny locked his spot into the show with a fifth-place finish in his heat while Stormy streaked to a consolation victory after placing sixth in his heat. With $12,000 on the line, Johnny recorded a 19th-place finish while Stormy trailed him in 20th.

For the finale on Saturday night, Johnny followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a consolation victory. Stormy’s night was over after placing seventh in his heat and fifth in his B-Main. Starting the $128,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream in 23rd, Johnny was running in 22nd on lap 14 when light precipitation picked up and forced officials to postpone the remainder of the 100-lapper to September 7th.
